Who we Are

Tracy Borlaug, Founder:  Tracy is mother to sons Brody, Kade, Blake and Cole, and daughter, Kaelyn. When Brody became ill in January of 2010, Tracy was nearly 7 months pregnant with Kaelyn, who was born that April. She took care of Brody around the clock throughout the 18 months he battled his illness. She is now a stay-at-home mother taking care of her children while working relentlessly on the Foundation to ensure Brody’s lasting legacy.  Tracy grew up in the coastal town of Gearhart, Oregon, and attended Portland State University.  Her other interests include being terrible at golf, driving the kids to endless sports practices, keeping up on current events and a passion for social justice issues and involvement in civic engagements within our community.

Jeff Borlaug, Founder:  Jeff is father to Brody, Blake, Cole and Kaelyn and step-father to Kade. Jeff has been in the commercial real estate business for over 23 years and is Managing Director at Felton Properties, Inc. Jeff runs the day-to-day operational side of the Foundation outside of his professional responsibilities. He is also on the Boards of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Westside Economic Alliance, Oregon Club of Portland and the Commercial Association of Brokers or Oregon and Southwest Washington. Jeff grew up in Hillsboro, Oregon, and received his business degree from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!). In addition to spending quality family time together, his other interests include golf, basketball, and playing acoustic guitar.

Jeff and I are doing whatever we can to honor the experience of Brody’s life. If you are not able to take the worst thing that has happened to you in your life and do something constructive with it, then you are dishonoring the experience. We honor the journey, and the remarkable way in which Brody handled it, and we continue his legacy through this Foundation.  – Tracy Borlaug, Brody’s Mom
